Jasmine is a mammoth donkey . She is sweet, sweet, sweet with her fantastic ears! She and Elsa accompanied Lucy when Fred died. Donkeys form VERY strong bonds and dying from heartbreak is sadly quite common. To help Lucy we did a rescue to rescue transfer with Elsa and Jasmine to finish quarantine and travel with Lucy. Jasmine is always on board for a good scratch and if you try to pay attention to someone else in the group before her you will just have a very calm LARGE donkey slowly slide herself in the nonexistent space between you and the animal you are cheating on her with.
Homer was rescued from a kill pen in Oklahoma. He was impaled almost to the jugular while in a chute at the auction. PDAS quickly scooped him up and got him the veterinary care that he needed. Homer arrived totally shut down. He has come out of his shell, made a best fried (Mr. Ed) and LOVES to be around people.
Homer has been Adopted!
Lucy before she arrived to PDAS
Bob is a mini donkey from an Oklahoma kill pen. Just a cute little muffin with his second position feet.
We got Elsa because Lucy’s friend Fred died in quarantine and Lucy needed friends to help her with the heartache
Pecos is a mini donkey that was extremely sick in quarantine. He was emaciated and depressed. Once he was strong enough to make the journey from quarantine to us in California he really blossomed. Being out with all of our sweet donkeys really lifted his spirits and gave him his full strength back
