Gunner is a mustang gelding that was an owner surrender after a riding accident. We lovingly refer to him as our giant mushy marshmallow
Gunner, our handsome marshmallow
Adagio (Gio) is secret pocket mustang. He’s 13hh max and the kill pen was trying to claim he was just a pony and not a mustang. I don’t know if this is the case but kill pens should check with the BLM before they let mustangs get sold on and technically they aren’t allowed to ship to slaughter…does that work….no…but might be why they didn’t advertise him as a mustang even though we could see his freeze mark He had one shoe on and was pretty sore and sick but he is doing so much better and everyone falls in love with him when the meet him.
Cheyenne is a Mustang mare from a kill pen in Louisiana.
Magic and Takoda are Mustangs from an Oklahoma kill pen that are bonded together.
Super bonded mustang geldings. They were in a big group of bay mustang geldings at a kill pen in Oklahoma. We were watching the group making sure everyone got a forever home and when it got down to the last three a rescue that is actually located very close to us got one so we got the remaining two. They got to quarantine and travel out to CA together. We gave them all time together once they arrived but when they were ready Durango (their buddy) went to his amazing home and radar and echo got introduced to one of our herds. They kept to themselves for a while moving as one throughout the pasture but now they have expanded their friendship circle and even get chatty with the staff.
