Scarlett is a 19.3hh Belgian mare. She was work horses rescued from kill pen. When she wasn't working, she was having babies resulting in permanent internal damage. She arrived super skinny, shaking all the time, and with limited mobility. Now she's a volunteer favorite, especially with anyone nervous or shy.
Olivia is a Belgian mare. Eloise knew we were going to get a Belgian, her spider sense was strong. We had just pulled a group of minis from a kill pen in Texas and went on to make sure they had received our payment and they posted Olivia. We cried as soon as we saw her photo sent it to Eloise and she paid for her straight away. The guy from the kill pen called Eloise and said she has a friend and sent us a photo of Scarlett. Olivia spent a week at San Luis Rey Equine Hospital with impaction colic from getting so hungry she had eaten hair.
Olivia, ar the auction in Texas. Emaciated and needing a miracle.
Zephyr’s is a Peruvian Paso mare that we got from a kill pen auction in Oregon. The people that dropped her off said that they got her from the same auction a few years earlier. She had a couple babies for them and they worked with rehabilitating her to trust people after going through the auction… Just to send her back to the same auction when their daughter lost interest.
Aria is an Arabian mare that was part of a law-enforcement seizure of a breeding operation in Oregon. She was the last one of her family to get placed we did a rescue to rescue transfer.
